Holiday gifts for men tend to fall into only a handful of categories; electronics, golf balls, and socks, specifically of the Gold Toe type because I guess Gold Toes just scream Christmas.
It really doesn’t have to be this way. Really. It doesn’t. I have enough socks. They might have holes in them but they still work just like they’re supposed to. If you give me golf balls I’ll just lose them anyway, probably because you bought me the wrong type and I shanked them into the woods. And electronics? Do you really want me to pay less attention to you at the dining table? I’ll either be staring at my new smartphone figuring out how to put “Can’t Touch This” by MC Hammer as my custom ringtone, planning my sweet moves on the level 5 boss in the new game that is paused in the background, or pondering how to get 8.1 Dolby Digital THX-certified sound from the new sound system. “Maybe if I place the speakers at a 16.4 degree angle perpendicular to the La-Z-Boy, I’ll boost the dB rating by 2%”
What a man really wants is something unique and something that will make him think that you care.

Large Historic Tug Boat Signal Bell – $1,200
Guys love steampunk. It’s a fact. You’ve never heard of steampunk? It’s okay. What you need to know is that we think that it’s awesome. Pseudo-Victorian machines? Yes please. What makes something steampunk? Some of the things to look for is a victorian aesthetic, contraptions, steam-power, and mechanical elements.
This piece by Early Electrics fits the bill. It is an early 19th century tug boat signal bell, very similar to the type found on boxing rings or a firehouse. Perfect for a man cave or office to compliment a vintage boxing glove collection, or to be able to signal the missus when someone’s iced tea needs refilling. Hearing how well Art Basel is doing this week, I think it’s safe to say (please let us have a bull market. Pretty please) we’re on our way to bouncing back from this little recession that we’ve have. What better way to hope for the best than with a 1950′s Italian Murano glass bull by Zanetto from our dealer Ohmio. Perfect for someone in finance, or someone that just plain likes bulls.

Childhood memories are all grown up. This painting being sold by material[ENVIRONMENT] is from the Enemy Elite Trooper series by artist Jason Allan. Based on the action figures of G.I. Joe, they are a great testimony to the memories of many childhoods and have now developed into an adult pop art icon.

Every man needs a lounge chair in his life. It’s a place to read the paper and drink a cup of coffee while your dog is lying next to you. And if you’re going to get a lounge chair, you might as well get a mid-century Italian one made with cognac colored leather and rosewood veneer from Quintessentia. The leather floats off the frame, which effectively cradles the lucky one sitting down.

Edward Bohlin 21 Club Watch Band with an Omega Wristwatch – $2,200
It’s no secret that stylish men love watches and this one from Hacienda is special. This watch was custom made for Jack and Pete Kriendler, owners of the legendary 21 Club in NYC, and given away to their elite clients in the 1940′s and 50s. As such, there are very few of these around.

Sporting Prints By English Artist Henry T. Alken (1785 – 1851) – $350/each
The sporting life. What could be more “civilized”? These prints from The Dongan Collection are pencil style etchings with original hand color from Alken’s Sporting Illustrations published in 1824. Henry Alken is one of England’s best sporting artists, and an accomplished printmaker as well. Perfect for the animal lover, hunter, or English gentleman.

Cigars and wine. What a great pairing. This folk art glass decanter from Hacienda is completely covered by cigar bands. I’ve included some close up photos because the level of detail is amazing. And for $425? That is a great, great price. It reminds me of a 1900′s version of what the artists Ghosts of a Dream are currently doing with lottery tickets.

Original Vintage Sci-fi Italian Movie Poster of Godzilla vs Megalon – $950
