The Muppet Show debuted in 1976 and finally, after five years and 120 episodes, which went off the air in 1981 by Henson's desire to move on to other projects and the removal of members of ATV ITV network.

Muppet News Flashes often uses absurd humor, in a sketch, the announcer said that the Atlantic Ocean, had been kidnapped. Another example is this statement: The reports are coming from all parts of the world that television reporters are blowing up. These rumors are not likely to be … KA-BOOM! A third example, a cross with Chef Swedish Chef Swedish Open and cause a bottle of wine "explosion" (if a bottle is moved too before first opening, effervescence trips and out of the bottle) and flies through the air, classified as a UFO by the news reporter. As the scene will be reported directly on the Muppet Press and landed into a tailspin and the reporter news.
Pigs in Space parody of science fiction and Star Trek shows, but also the old 30's sci-fi serial. The spacecraft USS called Swinetrek and voiceover title is a parody of Star Trek's main competitors Lost in Space. Captain Link has Hogthrob, Miss Piggy as First Officer, and Dr. Julio Strangepork (the name a takeoff on "Dr. Strangelove"). In general, the sketches would endure patience Strangepork Piggy wacko and treat brain dead link as inferior because she is a woman. The first sketches also usually appears strange introductions to all the characters, as calling flappable Link Captain, First Officer Miss Piggy flirt, and referring to Dr. Strangepork as "indescribable. Strangepork brought to general description most unusual of the three during these presentations, as it was the strangest member of the group. This part of the introduction was launched during the third season, and the speaker just say it was time to Piiiiiigs … … … iiiin spaaaaaaace!
Swedish Chef cooking parody. Consists of the Swedish Chef, who speaks gibberish drill Swedish semi-understandable that spoofs the vowel sounds and intonation characteristic of the Swedish language. This is cooking a dish with great enthusiasm, until the punch online hits. A distinctive feature of these drawings was the improv between Jim Henson, who made head chef and voice, and Frank Oz, who was his hand. They often make something up on the ground, so the puppeteer other meet action. famous gags include "chick in baskie du" ("colon") bouncing meatballs, chocolate "moose", trying to cook nephew of René and perhaps the most famous, repeatedly adding pepper a prescription.
Vend-a-face of a vending machine that offers only the changing face of service usually painful contortions of the Muppets that feed the machine. It was originally intended to be a sketch at once. However, due to the puppet Vend-a-face was so expensive to make, was used repeatedly to justify its creation. A drawing that did not deal with face lifts when exercise was intended to give psychological counseling, and repeatedly asked Fozzie Bear deposit of another currency. After Fozzie does this several times, band-to-face says, "Your problem is: you are too generous."
Veterinary Hospital parody of the soap opera General Hospital and medical dramas, composed of Dr. Bob (Rowlf) corny jokes in the operating room with Nurse Piggy and Janice, both the confusion of the hapless patient. Each section ends with Dr. Bob and his nurses looking around in bewilderment as a disembodied narrator tells viewers to tune in time next to the "continuous stooory." On several occasions, "Veterinary Hospital", the sketch is crossed with the cast or group from another, as "The Dance" and "Pigs in Space." In the first season, the narrator was usually expressed by John Lovelady, but Jerry Nelson, originally played the role in episodeshe Harvey Korman, and Rita Moreno, the first two episodes to the recording that had the sketchefore responsible for the continuing role of Phyllis Diller episode. In the introduction, Dr. Bob was "a former orthopedic surgeon "to" a charlatan "who has" gone to the dogs. "
Wayne and Wanda usually presented by Sam the Eagle as part of his idea of "good entertainment, healthy, Wayne and Wanda in honor of Nelson Eddy and Jeanette MacDonald slapstick sing songs that inevitably end in disaster. It is considered an achievement for them to get to the chorus. After a recurrent stroke in the first season, which disappeared after Wanda puppeteer, Eren Ozker, exit program. Wayne still seems at times as a background character or as the hero of a series of sketches melodrama co-starring Miss Piggy and mortal man, but soon disappeared too. Was finally revealed that Kermit had shot at them, but forgot why he did it and decided to hire. Unfortunately, seconds after started singing, Kermit remembered why he shot them (because they were terrible) and instantly shot back and forced to retreat from the stage. Wayne and Wanda return to appear in The Muppets Take Manhattan as guests at the wedding of Piggy and Kermit, and Wanda was participating in a choir.
